 Why Give

At Mosaic, our vision is to live as transformed people for God’s glory and our joy. As we work the good news of the gospel into every aspect of our lives, we find ourselves called to live out the countercultural values of the Kingdom of God. This includes a countercultural view of money.

Financial generosity is a way for followers of Jesus to support the mission and ministry of the church. We offer a sacrificial portion of our resources – time, talents, and possessions – as an act of faith and gratitude in response to God’s grace.

We believe that everything we have – our abilities, our possessions, and our very lives – belong to God. We are stewards, or caretakers, of what God has entrusted to us. The more we believe that everything we have belongs to a good God who cares for us, we are freed from excessive concern about our material possessions and able to give joyfully and freely back to Him.

The Bible also teaches us that Jesus loves us sacrificially, and we are called to love and serve sacrificially in return. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). As Christ’s sacrifice for us melts our hearts, we are motivated to give generously and sacrificially toward God’s redemptive work in this world.
